Tipping Customs in Different Countries.

People who visit America get surprised by the number of workers who are accustomed to getting tips. They wonder on the amount of a tip they should give. The result of this is the many Americans who visit other countries and giving out excessive tips. To avoid any social embarrassment, it is good to research on tipping etiquette.
Tipping in the UK.

The Britons do not tip a lot like the Americans. Tips are mainly made of the restaurants, bars, and clubs. Failing to tip in these places are treated as dissatisfaction with the service by the customer. In some cases such as an organized party, a service charge is usually added to the cost. The additional cost acts as a the tip. One would be considered as rude if he or she fails to pay that tip.
In some places such as a taxi service, tipping is not expected. Tipping in such a case would be done more casually, such as by rounding off the money to a denomination that is close, in a higher value. Other than the hotels, tipping is not required in a big way. A hairdresser, for example, does not require a tip in a big way. You can, however, tip the worker by telling him or her to keep change.

Tipping in Italy.
Italy has professional services in restaurants. Italians, however, do not have a tipping culture. It is very rare for you to see Italians using a tip calculator online. This is even with the good services. One might, however, round off the bill due to generosity, or if it is convenient to do so. The workers rarely expect a tip. Tipping in Italy is not a culture because being a professional, respectable, and pays well. Since waiters are professional, they know how to offer a service best without expecting a tip.

Indian Tips.
India has grown a lot in the market, and had a lot of visitors from Europe and the USA. Even though tipping was not very common in the past, this has increased the tipping practice in India. In India, you tip when the service is very good, and the tip is usually between 5 and 10 percent.

Tipping in Japan.
Tipping in Japan is not common, but people thank those who serve them well. Tipping is not considered as a bad thing in Japan, because many people are exposed to the western culture.

Tipping in South America.
If a tip is expected in the South American countries, it is usually added to the bill. Depending on the place, the tip might vary in between 10 and 15 percent.
